What Is Dartle?
Dartle is a daily trivia and number-combination game with a target of 100. Each round gives you one category and a selected list of answers. Every answer has a value defined by that category.
Choose up to three different answers and add their values together. Exactly 100 is a bullseye. A total below 100 can still be kept, but going over the target makes your score zero unless you complete an available redemption shot.
This independent Chainle edition combines movie, music, science and historical knowledge. It has its own category lists and daily schedule, separate from the original game at dartle.net.
This is not the Dartle game where you guess professional darts players. Here, your answers—not your aim—determine the numbers.
How to Play Dartle
1. Read the category rule
Check what an answer is worth before throwing. An element scores its atomic number, for example—not its atomic mass.
Each category explains its unit, calculation or numbering system. Read the source note if you need more context.
2. Choose your first answer
Type to filter the available names, then tap an answer to throw immediately. You can also enter an exact listed name or supported alias and press Throw dart.
The answer’s value is revealed and added to your total. Invalid entries and repeated answers do not use a dart.
3. Check the gap
Subtract your total from 100. Decide whether you know another answer that fits the remaining gap.
You can throw again while ordinary darts remain, or choose Stand & keep score after any accepted ordinary dart below 100.
4. Keep your finish
Reach exactly 100 to finish immediately with a bullseye. Otherwise, your round ends when you stand, use all three ordinary darts, or bust without a successful redemption.
There is no undo for accepted darts. Use Unlimited when you want to try another combination.
How Dartle Scoring Works
| Finish | Your score | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Exactly 100 | 100 | Bullseye—the round ends immediately |
| Stand below 100 | Your total | You keep the points already earned |
| Three darts, total below 100 | Your total | Your ordinary darts are finished |
| Total over 100 | 0 | You bust; redemption may be available |
| Successful redemption | 100 | An unused answer worth exactly 100 saves the round |
| Unsuccessful redemption | 0 | The round ends after that extra shot |
Higher scores are better. When comparing equal scores, fewer ordinary darts is the better finish. Results also show hints used and whether a redemption shot was taken.
There is no public leaderboard in this edition. Copy your result if you want to compare finishes with someone else.
A Dartle Round, Step by Step
| Dart | Answer | Value | Running total |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Copper | 29 | 29 |
| 2 | Silver | 47 | 76 |
| 3 | Calcium | 20 | 96 |
These values are atomic numbers from the Elements category.
After the second dart, you can stand and keep 76. If you choose Calcium as your third answer, the round finishes at 96.
A different combination reaches the target in two darts:
That is a bullseye. You do not need to use all three darts.
Explore the Dartle Categories
This edition contains 202 selected trivia boards: 100 historical movie box-office lists, 100 dated Billboard Hot 100 charts, plus science and history lists. Every board has at least one valid combination that reaches 100 in three or fewer ordinary darts.
Movie box-office snapshots
Explore films grouped by release year, genre, studio or production country. Each film scores its revenue from a historical TMDB dataset divided by $10 million, rounded to a whole point. These frozen totals are not current box-office figures.
Historical Billboard Hot 100 charts
Choose songs from a dated U.S. weekly chart. Each song scores its rank that week; it is not a year-end rank or a current popularity score. Song titles and artists identify each answer.
Elements by atomic number
Choose from a selected list of chemical elements. Each scores its atomic number; supported chemical symbols work as aliases.
Selected U.S. presidents by number
Use historical presidential numbers, not years in office. This selected list stops at Barack Obama, the 44th president.
The board shows the exact rule and a source note. These are selected lists, not complete reference databases.
Daily challenges follow a 202-board rotation with no repeats within a cycle. Unlimited lets you revisit a category, so themes, names and values can repeat.
Busts, Redemption and Hints
What happens when you bust?
Going over 100 makes the ordinary round a bust. A total of 101 is not better than 99.
The board keeps your thrown total visible, but your result is zero unless you complete an available redemption shot.
When is redemption available?
Some categories contain an answer worth exactly 100 on its own.
If you bust in one of those categories and such an answer is still unused, you receive one extra shot. Choose an unused answer worth exactly 100 to finish at 100.
The redemption value replaces the bust result; it is not added to your earlier total. An incorrect redemption answer ends the round at zero.
What does a hint reveal?
A hint names one unused answer that will not take your current total over 100. During redemption, it points to an eligible 100-point answer.
It does not throw the dart for you. In an ordinary round, a safe choice is not necessarily part of a perfect checkout.
Every hint request is counted in your result, including repeated requests.
Daily Dartle or Unlimited Practice?
Daily Challenge
Everyone using this Chainle edition receives the same category for the UTC date.
A new daily edition becomes available at midnight UTC. An open daily page checks for a new UTC date every 30 seconds and when you return to the tab.
Once finished, your daily result is locked in this browser. There is no date-selection archive.
Unlimited Practice
Start another round whenever you want. Choose New round for a different random category, or use the category selector to practise a particular list.
Starting a new practice round replaces your latest practice save. Daily progress stays separate.
Unlimited means repeat play without a daily limit. It does not mean every round has a unique category or new answer values.
Tips for a Better Dartle Score
Check the unit before the name
A familiar answer can have different values in different contexts. Make sure you are thinking about the number this category actually uses.
Aim at the remaining gap
After each dart, calculate what is left to reach 100. Choose your next answer for that gap, rather than simply picking another large value.
Know when to stand
A score you keep is better than a bust you regret. If you cannot identify a safe next answer, Stand is a valid way to finish.
Practise a list and learn its values
Use the category selector to revisit a topic. Seeing how accepted answers are scored can help you plan a better combination next time.
Dartle FAQ
Is Dartle free to play?
Yes. Daily and unlimited modes are free in your browser, with no account or download required.
Is this the original Dartle?
No. This is an independent Chainle edition with its own selected lists, daily schedule and implementation.
Visit dartle.net to play the original trivia game.
Do I have to reach exactly 100?
Exactly 100 is the highest score, but it is not the only result you can keep. You can stand below 100 or finish with a lower total after three ordinary darts.
Going over 100 scores zero unless an available redemption succeeds.
Can I use the same answer twice?
No. Each answer can be used only once in a round, including redemption. A repeated answer does not use another dart.
Can I undo a throw?
No. An accepted answer reveals its value and stays on your board.
You can start another round in Unlimited if you want to try a different combination.
Why was my answer rejected?
It must match an entry or supported alias in the current category’s selected list, and it must not already have been used.
Type to filter the suggestions if you are unsure of a name. An invalid entry does not use a dart.
Where can I get a Dartle hint?
Use Hint: reveal a safe choice during an unfinished round. It reveals an eligible answer and its value without throwing it.
Hint requests are counted in your result.
Where can I see a perfect checkout?
Finish your round, then open See one perfect checkout. It shows one combination from this edition’s list that adds up to 100.
It is not necessarily the only combination, and it is not an answer guide for the original Dartle website.
When does the daily challenge change?
At midnight UTC in this edition. If the page has stayed open across midnight, select Daily again or reload to open the new edition.
Can I play previous daily challenges?
There is no date-selection archive. Use Unlimited to practise the available categories.
Does Unlimited always give me new answers?
No. You can play as many rounds as you like, but the 202 selected boards and their values repeat.
Can I play Dartle on my phone?
Yes. Type to filter the list, then tap an answer to throw. You can also submit an exact listed name using Throw dart or your keyboard’s submit action.
Are my results saved?
Your daily round and latest unlimited round save in this browser when storage is available.
They do not sync across devices. Clearing site data can remove saved progress, so copy any result you want to keep elsewhere.
