Green: keep the position
A correct letter in the correct position must stay in that position in later guesses.
DAILY WORD GAME · A DIFFERENT GOAL
Use the clues. Avoid the answer.
Six tries, one hidden word—and your goal is to avoid guessing it.
Don't Wordle is a reverse Wordle game: complete six legal five-letter guesses without submitting the hidden word. Every guess gives you clues, but those clues also restrict the words you can use next.
This page loads the original game from dontwordle.com. It is not a separate Chainle edition, and its daily puzzle, settings and progress are controlled by the original website.
The colors are more than feedback: they constrain your next guess. You cannot simply type unrelated words to avoid the answer.
A correct letter in the correct position must stay in that position in later guesses.
A correct letter in the wrong position must appear again in a different position.
Letters eliminated by the clues cannot be used in later guesses. Let the game validate repeated-letter cases.
This counter shows how many words currently fit the clues. It can shrink quickly as your guesses add restrictions.
A positive count does not guarantee a winning route. You can still reach a position where no sequence of legal guesses lets you survive to the end.
An undo takes back a submitted guess so you can try another route. Standard mode provides five undos; Hard Mode reduces this to two.
Check Settings before starting if you want Hard Mode. An undo cannot rescue a game after you submit the hidden word.
Before submitting, review fixed green positions, misplaced yellow letters and excluded letters together. A word that avoids the answer still needs to be legal.
Repeated letters use fewer distinct letters in a guess, which can preserve flexibility. They do not guarantee a safe route.
If your options shrink sharply, consider stepping back before committing to a forced answer. Keep track of the undos you have left.
Many remaining words can still lead to a trap. Use the number as information, not as a promise that the puzzle is still winnable.
Complete six legal guesses without submitting the hidden five-letter word. Each new guess must respect the information revealed so far.
The game ends immediately. Remaining undos do not reverse that loss.
No. Your guesses must follow the color clues, so the available choices become more restricted as you play.
